WELCOME TO SHAKOPEE GIRLS SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION!
The Shakopee Girls Softball Association is dedicated to providing a fun and inclusive environment where young girls can learn and develop their softball skills. Our focus is on fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence, all while creating lasting memories through the love of the game. We aim to inspire young athletes to grow both on and off the field, ensuring every player feels supported and valued.
The SGSA program is open to ages 6-14 who live within Shakopee School District 720's attendance boundary. The program starts with 8U and progresses through 14U, when many of our players graduate into the high school program. In a typical year, youngest to oldest levels the program consists of:
- 8U (two teams)
- 10U (four teams)
- 12U (two teams)
- 14U (one team)
We have a strong softball community of involved and passionate families who work hard to ensure a successful program.
Most of SGSA's team play in the Big West Softball League, with the exception of 8U, which plays in the Metro Area League. All leagues are under the Minnesota Softball umbrella.
If you are considering joining the SGSA program, registration opens in February, tryouts for eligible levels (10U & 12U) typically occur in early March, and league games begin in late April.
