VOLUNTEERING/DIBS
Each family is required to volunteer 8 HOURS at a tournament hosted by Shakopee. (Max of 12 hours per family with 2+ players)
These tournaments support all SGSA programs. The funds raised allow SGSA to significantly reduce the registration fee per player and provide funding for field improvements. We appreciate your understanding and dedication to helping our softball community thrive!
If you are unable to fulfill your required volunteer hours, you can ask a friend or family member to fulfill them for you.
If the volunteer requirement is not met by the end of the season, a $500 FEE will be automatically charged to the card on your account in lieu of hours not worked.
Head coaches are not required to complete volunteer hours.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sign up to be a coach?
If you are interested in coaching, please check the appropriate boxes during registration. You will also be asked to choose your jersey and hat size.
If you are selected as a coach, you will be contacted by SGSA. You will need to fill out a background check form and provide a copy of your driver's license before you can begin coaching.
What payment options does Crossbar accept?
You can pay with a credit/debit card or your bank account. Crossbar accepts Visa, Mastercard and Discover. AMEX is not supported.
Can my daughter "play up" a level?
Certain circumstances will be considered by the Board to allow players to play up a level. See our Age Classifications & Playup Policy page for more information.
Do all players need to attend tryouts?
Tryouts are only for 12U players and certain 10U players. See our Spring Tryouts page for more information.
Can I request to have my daughter play on the same team as another player?
We will consider these requests on a case-by-case basis for 8U players. We cannot honor requests for 10U/12U/14U players as teams are formed based on tryout scores.
8U friend requests can be sent to Cory Ramaker, travel director, at cory.ramaker@gmail.com
Is fundraising required to be part of SGSA?
SGSA does not require players to do any fundraising. However, we do offer a fundraising opportunity for families to recoup some of their fees. This will be discussed at the parent meeting at the beginning of the season.
